T R A V E L // florence, sei bellissima!

Last weekend I was lucky enough to go to Florence in Italy. It was amazing! I went with a couple of my classmates from Akademie Vogue, because we had to visit a specific fashion store in Florence for our end project. 4 days wasn't enough, but I made a sh*tload of pictures and made a "vlog" as well.

So be prepared for more Florence posts. I will put up an OOTDs post and a street style post later.

Our flight was at 12:35. First to Munich and from there to Florence. After a short bus ride and a 5 minute walk we arrived at our hostel. We shared a nice room with 5 people, 3 beds and a bunk bed (I had the top bed, yay!) The others slept in another room.
We arrived around 18:00, so when we went outside to get some food it was already dark. But still so beautiful! A lot of lamps in every street lighted the whole place up. The architecture of the houses were so cute and pretty. After we filled our tummies with food, it was time to go back to the hostel to prepare for the next active day.

At 08:30 my alarm went off. We have no time to waste! Breakfast time at the hostel and after making myself presentable it was time to explore the city. The weather was nice, perfect for awesome pictures. To be honest, we had no clue where we were going to. We just turned left, turned right, left, right into random streets and enjoyed the city. Bumped into different squares, churches, buildings and a bridge with a beautiful view. We had to meet the rest of the people from school at 13:00 at a museum that used to be a palace called 'I muse di Palazzo Pitti'. It was a huge building with different galleries and a big garden. We spend hours in this place. After that we explored some more of the city.

So much walking made us hungry. There was a restaurant down the street of our hostel that had high ratings. And they were true, because WAUW(!) it was so delicious. A cozy italian restaurant, good service, affordable  and amazing food.. that's how I like it! When diner and desert was munched away, we wanted to have a drink somewhere else. But we couldn't find a good place, so we decided to save it for saturday night.

Today, Charisse and me, had to visit the fashion store for our end project. The store is called LUISA VIA ROMA. Since 1930, Luisa Via Roma has been a premier retailer for authentic women's and men's clothing, shoes and accessories from the most important designers in the fashion world. Clients can shop from over 400 designer collections such as D&G, Lanvin, Christian Louboutin, Chanel, DSquared, Kenzo, Alexander Wang and many more. I saw all the newest collections from the runway. I took my chance to try on some of the clothes. At first I was a bit scared, because I'm a clumsy girl. If I rip or break an item, of course I would have to pay for it. Luckily everything went fine and I could put the €700 shirts back in the hangers. We spend about 2 hours in the store. We had to meet the rest of the school again at 13:00, but this time at the Gucci museum. After the Gucci museum we headed back to the Luisa store, because they also have an outlet store. The store arranged a free taxi for us to take us to the outlet store and bring us back as well. What a service!

Lack of sleep and a lot of walking made us a bit tired, so we went back to the hostel to take a little break before dinner. We played some cards with everyone and then we searched for a pizzeria we found on the internet that had high ratings too. It was a small pizzeria with many locals and a nice atmosphere called 'Gusta Pizza'. Amaaaaaazing pizza! I would definitely recommend this place. Oh, and the good looking waiter wasn't a bad thing either. We also ate some delicious icecream. Awwww.. as I'm writing this I am craving for some real Italian icecream.

We didn't wanted to go to sleep. It was our last night in Florence and the night was young, so let's search for a nice place to have some drinks. That afternoon I talked to some Italian guys who asked me to come by a club, so after we had some cocktails at a horrible place we went to the club. Couldn't stay too long, because we had to check out of the hostel at 10:30 the next morning. I hit the dance floor after some drinks and than straight on to my bed.

Noooo, the last day. After 5 hours of sleep it was time to pack my suitcase. We shared a bathroom with 5 girls, so it was a bit hectic. But we managed to handle it well. It was a lovely, sunny day! Plan for today: to the top of the Giotto's bell tower. The stairs had 414 steps! What a work out. But the view was worth the painful legs, amazing! When we were downstairs again, it was lunch time. There was a small lunchroom that made fresh, tasty sandwiches. I enjoyed my tuna, mozzarella and tomato sandwich in the sun, a real vacation feeling.

We had to take the taxi to the airport at 16:00, so I had my last Italian icecream before we headed back to the hostel to get our luggage. Ciao Florence, you are beautiful!
